Joint Research Centre

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission’s Directorate General whose mission is to provide independent, evidence-based knowledge and science, supporting EU policies to positively impact society.

The JRC offers opportunities for MSCA PFs secondments and short research stays in the following areas of JRC research:

  • Transformation of the built environment to support the energy and green transition; sustainable renovation, modular construction, and the integration of robotics;
  • Transport and mobility: all modes and geographical scales; modelling and data science applications;
  • Energy efficiency and renewables: urban climate mitigation and adaptation, including urban overheating and heat islands.
  • Disaster risk management: wildfire monitoring, risk and recovery;
  • Economic, financial and social resilience: household finance and sustainable and inclusive well-being;
  • Economics of the food system: sustainable food and consumer behaviour;
  • Non-Communicable Disease prevention, health promotion, sustainable healthy diets;
  • Sustainable and innovative solutions and technologies for health;
  • Mental Health: focus on transdisciplinary and integrated approaches to prevention
  • Small modular nuclear reactors: reactor safety analysis, emergency preparedness and response, and new structural materials;
  • Evidence informed policymaking: science for policy advisory systems, democratic theory and deliberative democracy;
